In 1999, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was granted a National Institutes of Health Medical Scientist Training Program grant (MSTP). This grant, along with the substantial commitment made by the leadership of the UNC School of Medicine, provides our trainees with stipend and tuition support throughout their education.
The UNC MD-PhD program is further distinguished by providing opportunities to our trainees to pursue their PhD in departments in the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health, the School of Pharmacy, or the College of Arts and Science.
