Janet RubinDr. Rubin and Dr. Kim will discuss the approach to primary hyperparathyroidism using cases to highlight diagnosis in the office, hand off from medicine to surgery, the surgical approach and considerations of atypical patient presentations and follow-up.

Lawrence Kim

Dr. Janet Rubin practices Endocrinology with a specialty in Osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, and is responsible for bone density testing. Dr. Rubin continues her decades-long research into bone remodeling, funded by the NIH. Dr. Rubin is also active in DOM leadership as the Vice-Chair for Research. Her interests are in junior faculty research development, and promotion of research throughout the Department.

Dr. Larry Kim is a recognized expert in surgical diseases of the endocrine glands.  He has written on a variety of topics related to these conditions and has served as Program Chair of the annual meeting of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He is particularly recognized in the use of office-based ultrasound for endocrine diseases and teaches ultrasound at national and international courses.
