Symptoms	Abdominal discomfort or pain for at least 3 months out of the last year and 2 out of 3 of the following: Change in frequency of bowel movement(Less often) Change in form (appearance) of bowel movement Straining Incomplete evacuation Bloating or feeling abdominal distension 3 or less bowel movements per week Relieved with bowel movement and/or

Purpose	The purpose of this research study is to determine the efficacy of an investigational medication on constipation predominant IBS.
Requirements	Men and women must be at least 18 years old Have a history of constipation predominant IBS (diagnosed by a physician) for at least six months 5 visits to UNC over 6 months Must be a resident of North Carolina
Compensation	$50 per visit to UNC, up to $250 total
