Below are guidelines for what items are acceptable for donation:
Please do not place contaminated or malfunctioning materials in the bin.
Steel instruments can be collected if they are clean or cleaned first.
Do NOT donate items that will expire within 18 months of donation.
Opened supplies but not used:
Gauze
Gowns
Gloves
Foleys
Syringes
Capped needles
Surgical Instruments
Speculums
Plastic Bowls
Laparoscopy Instruments
Other related items
Unused trays
Unused kits or parts of kits
Anything that stilll works and is clean can be recycled.
The bins have to comply with infection control standards, so please do not place trash in the bin.
Bins are emptied by a MEDWorld volunteer at least once a week.
