Below are guidelines for what items are acceptable for donation:

  • Please do not place contaminated or malfunctioning materials in the bin.

  • Steel instruments can be collected if they are clean or cleaned first.

  • Do NOT donate items that will expire within 18 months of donation.

  • Opened supplies but not used:

    Gauze
    Gowns
    Gloves
    Foleys
    Syringes
    Capped needles
    Surgical Instruments
    Speculums
    Plastic Bowls
    Laparoscopy Instruments
    Other related items
    Unused trays
    Unused kits or parts of kits


  • Anything that stilll works and is clean can be recycled.

  • The bins have to comply with infection control standards, so please do not place trash in the bin.

  • Bins are emptied by a MEDWorld volunteer at least once a week.
