Congratulations to Dr. Bergmeier

Dr. Bergmeier's published manuscript ("Relative contribution of STIM1 and CalDAG-GEFI to calcium-dependent platelet activation and thrombosis") won the Pier Mannucci award from the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. The manuscript was first authored by Firdos Ahmad, who was a lab member back in Philadelphia. The Mannucci Prizes are awarded in honor of Pier M. Mannucci, the Journal's first Editor-in-Chief, for the best articles by Young Investigators under 35 years of age. The prizes are made possible by a generous contribution from Bayer HealthCare. Now that Dr. Bergmeier is at MHI we look forward to many more awards here at UNC!
