The Department of Microbiology and Immunology congratulates Mark Johnson (Tisch Lab) on receiving a Dissertation Completion Fellowship. This award is given to support students who have one year or less of graduate study remaining to complete their dissertation, and is open to graduate students across all fields of study on the UNC campus. Mark’s thesis research investigates adeno-associated virus (AAV) and its potential uses as an immuno-therapeutic agent in the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes. The Fellowship award includes a stipend, tuition, fees, and health insurance for one academic year.
