Lemon lab: How a microRNA regulates viral RNA synthesis vs. translation

In this new study of hepatitis C virus, M&I Professor Stan Lemon’s group demonstrates that miR-122, a liver-specific microRNA, reduces the proportion of HCV genomes involved in translation while increasing the fraction available for RNA synthesis.
