MSL teaches two microscopy classes.
In the fall semester a class in electron microscopy (Pathology 463) is offered. This is a hands-on course in specimen preparation and microscope utilization for both transmission and scanning electron microscopy. There are no pre-requisites for the class. The class is taught during two afternoons each week for the entire semester. Student projects are strongly encouraged.
In the spring semester a class in light microscopy (Pathology 464) is offered. This is a demonstration and practice class that covers all conventional modes of light microscopy including confocal laser scanning microscopy. There are no pre-requisites for the class. The class is taught during two 1.5 hour sessions each week for the entire semester.
The following documents are down-loadable as PDF files. Included are class notes, a brief description of the laboratory for grant purposes, and instrument descriptions for publication purposes.
