Arcturus LCM

Arcturus

Arcturus PixCell II Laser Capture Microdissection System
The PixCell II is built on an Olympus IMT 2 inverted microscope stand. It is equipped for bright field and epi-fluorescence imaging. The system contains special hardware to capture individual cells onto a plastic membrane held on a cap that fits a 0.5 mm Eppendorf tube. The associated computer system and Arcturus software can capture images from the LCM, provide laser pulse counts and other useful data.

Zeiss PALM Microdissection

PALM microdissectionZeiss PALM Laser Microdissection System
PALM is a fully computer controlled microdissection system based on a Zeiss Axiovert fluorescence microscope stand. Sections of tissue are placed on special membrane coated slides. Areas for microdissection are selected on a computer monitor in either bright field or fluorescence light using various drawing tools after which microdissection is carried out automatically. The special membrane is cut through in the selected areas using a nitrogen laser and is lifted from the slide into a waiting receptacle through a laser catapulting method.
