Meet your Mentor

Pre-medical advising just not cutting it? Wanna know what life is really like in medical school? Team up with a current UNC medical student and get all the facts.

Pre-med is tough, we know.  We've all been there (seriously).  We didn't get through it alone, though, and so want to help you navigate the waters of undergrad and the application process.  Your mentor will be around to answer the tough questions and give you the advice from someone who has successfully handled the prerequisite classes and the application process.  Your mentor may meet you for coffee, take you to a medical lecture, or practice their physical exam skills on you (not really...but maybe...bring a gown just in case).  These mentors are students that have absolutely no influence on your admission to the UNC School of Medicine, so nothing is off limits.  However, just because we don't get to make the phone calls doesn't mean that we don't want you to get the phone call one day!  So stop nagging your boyfriend/girlfriend/roommate/parents with your pre-medical anxieties.  Bring them to us.  We'll confirm or deny every one, and maybe even introduce a few more!  Come on!  It's fun!

Our application form for undergrads is open in August, and we begin matching mid-September. We have completed mentor matching for the 2015-2016 year, but encourage all to check back next summer for more information!

Also, feel free to email us with any questions or concerns regarding the program.  But save the tough questions for your mentor!
