Medical School Course Packs
Medical School Course Packs are available prior to the beginning of each course at the Health Affairs Bookstore located on Medical Drive.
Annual Microscopy Fee
First and second year medical students pay a $50.00 microscopy fee. There are two payment options:
1. Prepay before classes begin: Click here if you are MS1 -- Click here if you are MS2.
2. Pay during orientation/check in. MSTL will accept cash, personal check or money order.
Personal checks and money orders must be made payable to the UNC School of Medicine.
Audio-Visual Equipment
MSTL has a variety of equipment available for loan from the Issue Room such as slide projectors and plastic models. A comprehensive list of items available is located in the Issue Room (303 MacNider).
- If you are in need of an LCD Projector, please contact the Educational Technology Group located in 67 MacNider or call 919-966-3519.
Lab/Desk Keys, Slides, and Fees
Mailbox key, Locker, and Lab Desk keys are issued during first year at orientation. Should any of the above items become lost or stolen, you may obtain a replacement(s) at 323 MacNider; however, a replacements are not always available and a fee may be incurred. The more common fees (payable by personal check or cash only) are as follows:
- Lost/stolen/damaged Mailbox Key $5.00
- Lost/stolen/damaged Lock Fee $10.00
- Lost/stolen/damaged lab desk key fee $10.00
- Damaged Locker up to $150.00
- Microscope Slides $10.00/ each
- Returned Check Fee $25.00
Lost and Found
Bring items left behind in MBRB, Clinic Auditorium, 321 MacNider, and 1131 Bioinformatics to our main office – 323 MacNider. Please call us at 919-966-1134 or come by the office to see if someone has turned in your lost item. A separate lost and found is maintained in Biomolecular Research Building.
