Who Should Attend

This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, and pharmacists new to HIV clinical care. Other professions will be wait-listed and then accepted on a space-available basis. This course is limited to persons working in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. 


Cost: $70 for registration (includes meals); $95 (additional $25 for CME credit)

  • HIV emerging trends and diagnosis
  • Pathogenesis, acute and chronic infection
  • Fundamentals of antiretroviral therapy
  • Viral hepatitis and HIV co-infection
  • Taking a sexual history, sexually transmitted infections and HIV
  • PrEP, PEP and nPEP
  • Mental health, substance abuse and HIV
  • Basics of viral resistance
  • Opportunistic infections
  • Preconception care, pregnancy and prevention of mother-to-child transmission

Continuing Education

Southeast AIDS Training and Education Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. 

Contact hours will be awarded based on attendance at the entire training program and submission of a completed evaluation form.
