Biography

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2007.

Research

The Bed Nucleus of the Stria Terminalis plays an important role in regulating stress - the number one cause for relapse in alcoholism. To better understand its mechanism, I use electrophysiology and immunohistochemistry as tools to characterize and compare the dopaminergic projections from the VTA (ventral tegmental area), PAG (periaqueductal gray), and RLi (rostral linear raphe) to the BNST. In addition, to assess the effects of both acute and chronic ethanol exposure in these specific regions.
