Biography

In 2004 I graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Integrated Science and Technology. After graduation I moved to Maryland where I first worked in Forensics and then transitioned to the NHLBI Proteomics Core Facility at the NIH in Bethesda. I graduated with my Masters in Biotechnology Regulatory Affairs from Johns Hopkins in 2007 and came to UNC Chapel Hill through the IBMS program. I joined the Neuroscience Curriculum in 2008.

Research

The signaling cascade responsible for proper neuronal polarization and migration is essential to the establishment of functional cortical connectivity. In the laboratory of Dr. Snider my research is focused on deciphering the role of GSK3 in post mitotic neurons of the developing cortex using a plethora in vivo and ex vivo techniques.
