Dr. Syndee Givre has a joint appointment in the UNC Departments of Ophthalmology and Neurology and directs the UNC Neuro-ophthalmology Service. Diagnosis and treatment are available in the areas of: complex eye movement disorders, ischemic optic neuropathy, giant cell arteritis, tumors, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, pupil abnormalities, optic neuritis and other MS related phenomenon, sarcoid, SLE and other inflammatory disorders and toxic, metabolic and hereditary optic neuropathies. Dr. Givre works closely with Dr. Howard in the area of myasthenia gravis and with Dr. Markovic-Plese in the area of multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory conditions. She is the director of Electrophysiology Services in the Department of Ophthalmology which provides both full field and multifocal electroretinography.
