The UNC Hospitals Stroke Center provides care to patients with stroke or cerebrovascular disorders.
Services include the following:
- Acute stroke treatments by the acute stroke team (TPA, MERCI® and PENUMBRA®)
- Inpatient care in the Stroke Unit
- Outpatient care in the Stroke Clinic
- Carotid clinic - endarterectomy, angioplasty, and stenting
- Stroke risk screening
- Stroke treatment and prevention clinical trials
- Stroke database
- Stroke education and outreach
- Referrals for stroke rehabilitation therapies (PT, OT and ST)
