Our laboratory is investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms

underlying the development of the cerebral cortex

We are focusing on:

I-  how do cortical neurons get to the right place at the right time?

II- how do cortical neurons form axon and dendrites?

III- how do neurons establish functional connections?

Mutations in genes controlling the migration or connectivity of cortical neurons underlie neurodevelopmental disorders ranging from epilepsy, severe mental retardation and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Our long-term goal is to improve our understanding of the developmental mechanisms underlying these socially-devastating neuropathologies.
