The 16th Annual UNC Neuroscience Symposium was held on October 8th at the Carolina Club. Attendees from the UNC Neuroscience community enjoyed a breakfast reception with the speakers, Joseph G. Gleeson, Yang Dan and Alcino Silva, three riveting talks followed by question-and-answer sessions, and a buffet luncheon at the conclusion.

On October 8, 2015, the 16th Annual UNC Neuroscience Symposium was held on UNC’s campus at the Carolina Club. It featured talks from Joseph Gleeson, MD, of the University of California-San Diego, Yang Dan, PhD, of the University of California-Berkely, and Alcino Silva, PhD, of the University of California-Los Angeles. More than 200 Neuroscientists from UNC and around the Triangle attended the 16th Annual UNC Neuroscience Symposium on the beautiful fall morning to hear outstanding presentations by the speakers. Their talks covered a variety of topics including: Treating the Untreatable: Lessons from Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Neural circuits controlling sleep, and Molecular, cellular and circuit allocation mechanisms that connect memories across time. Each presentation was followed by a lively question-and-answer session, where members of the audience were encouraged to ask the speakers to clarify or elaborate on the topics they had addressed. The day concluded with a buffet luncheon at the Carolina Club and opportunities for faculty members, postdocs, and students to meet with the speakers.
