The UNC Neurobiology Curriculum presented its annual Pierre Morell Research Day 2015 on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Our guest speaker this year was Dr. Gary Aston-Jones. Dr. Aston-Jones is a Professor, a Murray Chair of Excellence in Neuroscience, and the Director of Cognitive Neuro Center and the Neuroscience Institute, Rutgers University. His research interests are in the brain neuromodulatory system, and their roles in cognitive performance, drug abuse, sleep and waking, and affective disorders. A schedule for the events took place as follows: 12:00pm – Catered lunch from Vimala’s, 1:00pm- Keynote Speaker, 2:30pm- Poster Session, 3:30pm- NBIO student speakers, Abigail Agoglia (Hodge lab) and Dan Albaugh (Shih lab), 5:00pm- Happy Hour at Topo. What a great event!
