Tom Kash, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology and the UNC Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies. One of the main focuses of his lab is to understand how drugs of abuse and stress impact neuronal function. They are interested in defining alterations in synaptic function, modulation and plasticity using a combination of whole-cell patch-clamp physiology, biochemistry and mouse models.
