I was born and raised in New Jersey and I graduated Rutgers University in 2007 with a BA in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. I spent a year teaching 1st to 6th grade in Honduras before moving to Chapel Hill in 2008.
I joined the Philpot lab in the department of Cell and Molecular Physiology in May 2009. My research interests include cortical circuit architecture, cortical computations and information processing, and neurodevelopmental disorders. In the Summer of 2012 I attended the Neural Systems and Behavior Course and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA and would encourage all neurobiology students to apply to a summer course there during graduate school I was an amazing experience.
