Jim is a native of North Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Science in Public Health and his Masters of Healthcare Administration degrees from the UNC Health Policy and Management program. Upon completion of his graduate work, Jim completed an administrative residency with Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, NC. Jim returned to UNC after his residency and became a senior analyst in Business Development/Strategic Planning in the UNC Healthcare system. Jim has been in this role for the past four years and most recently was responsible for the planning of the UNC Center for Heart & Vascular Care, Emergency Services, and the Burn Center. Prior to this, he was charged with planning activities for Neurosciences and Mental & Behavioral Health.
Jim and his wife, Jennifer, are avid supporters of UNC-Chapel Hill’s academic and sports programs. Jim frequently speaks to students at the School of Public Health, and he never misses a Tarheel basketball game!
