Neurosurgery Patient Buoyed by UNC Baseball TeamJanuary 26, 2011 -- The "Wilmington Star News" featured a story about 10-year-old Zion Kinlaw, who underwent brain surgery last October. The young man received excellent care from the Neurosurgery team (including surgeons Victor Perry, MD, and Jennifer Orning, MD) as well as a large group of unanticipated supporters in the form of the UNC baseball team.
Zion will be throwing out the first pitch to UNC catcher Chase Jones, a brain cancer survivor, before the Duke/UNC game on March 26th. You can read Zion's touching story at the StarNews Online site. Zion's parents have founded Blue on the Brain, an organization to benefit UNC Pediatric Neurosurgery.
