Sasaki-Adams Joins FacultyAugust 31, 2011 -- The Department of Neurosurgery welcomes Dr. Deanna Sasaki-Adams. Dr. Sasaki-Adams has been appointed Assistamt Professor of Neurosurgery at UNC. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Biochemistry and French and graduating with honors. She also completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and then residency here at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. She completed a one-year fellowship specializing in Cerebrovascular and Skullbase Neurosurgery at St. Louis University in Missouri. Dr. Sasaki-Adams' clinical interests include:
She is also certified to perform Cyberknife radiosurgery. Her research interests lie in advancing resident education through the use of computer simulation and lab experience. Her clinical research is in high flow bypass for the management of giant aneurysms. She is also interested in public health and extending this knowledge internationally to benefit resource-poor countries. |
