NIM Project Overview Objectives of the Nutrition in Medicine Curriculum To develop a core curriculum in nutrition for medical students that: 1) includes prevention and therapeutic perspectives of nutrition; 2) spans the pre-clinical and clinical training of physicians; 3) presents the biochemical basis of nutrition, nutrition epidemiology, clinical nutrition (including nutrition assessment), and nutrition-related preventive health care; 4) uses innovative techniques to excite the student about the field of nutrition; and 5) is transportable to other medical schools.
