About NIM

Will take you to an overview of the NIM project, it's objectives and their descriptions, a list of organizations and people who make the Project and site possible, and a list of the NIM team members. For more background information on the project, read "What is Nutrition in Medicine Curriculum".


Quick Start

This page will provide you with instructions on how to get up and running NIM versions 3.7 and up CDs. Also listed on the page are system requirements and upgrade information.

Nutrition Links

Nutrition links will take you outside NIM's site to the Department of Nutrition at UNC Chapel Hill.

 

Order

Order will take you to a form where you may place a purchase order for any of the modules NIM has made available.

 

NutraQuiz (Currently unavailable)

Is an interactive area where students can go to take pop quizes on program material
and where instructors can generate, update and review quizes.

 

Instructor

Instructors check in here with your password to access:
Create Access Disks: learn how to create floppy disks that will record your students test scores on the disks and track their progress through each of the modules
Data Analyzer: learn how to analyze student test score data
Instructor Module: learn how to add special notes or case studies to customize the modules for your class or training program
Threaded Conversation Room: access a virtual "chat room" set up as a threaded conversation. This room is open to instructors only. You can post questions, ideas, or recommendations to share with your colleagues using the Nutrition in Medicine" series.

Medical Student

Medical Students check in here to access the:
Module Gallery: Pre-view each of the Nutrition In Medicine" modules content and case study.
Threaded Conversation Room: A virtual "chat room" set up as a threaded conversation that is open to students and instructors. You can post questions, ideas, or recommendations to share with other students using the Nutrition in Medicine" series.

College Edition

The Nutrition in Medicine" series is being developed for a undergraduate training in nutrition, called the College Edition. This material is being developed by the Nutrition in Medicine" team and is being distributed to universities and colleges across the country by Medeor Interactive Inc.

A "Short Cuts" menu is located at the top of every page in NIM's site and will remain constant throughout the site. Also, a navigation bar is located just below Short Cuts. When you click on any one of the items, you will go to that item's page.

"Comments" is an email link for you, the user, to provide us with feedback.

"NIMtech@unc.edu" is an email link for technical information.

"NIM Policy" entails information on U.S. Medical School Approved Instructors, International Medical Schools, NIM User Survey, Ordering multiple copies of NIM programs, Technical Support, Permission to install on multple computers, Running [the programs] over a server, Non-medical school instructors, Copyright violation, NIM series titles.

"Copyright, license & Disclaimer of Warranty" is legal information on the Nutrition in Medicine application.
