What type of browser should I use?

The program is designed to be used with Internet Explorer 6.x, Mozilla 1.7 or Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 (You may be required to adjust the Firefox tabbed browser settings - this site requires that external links are loaded into a new window and that javascript popup windows should not be loaded into existing browser windows). Should I do anything before running the program?

If you have viewed NIM web courses in the past, some of the old audio and video files may be cached on your computer. We recommend that you open your browser and clear the cache first. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Delete temporary internet files. In Mozilla go to Edit>Preference>Advanced>Cache>Clear cache. In Firefox go to Tools>Options>Privacy>clear cache.

How can I login to the Online Courses website?

You will need a login name and password to access the web courses. You can get these by clicking on Sign up now at the bottom of the Webcourses login screen. Copy or memorize the password, then click on the link in your e-mail message to activate your account and bring up the login page. Enter the selected login name and the password sent by e-mail. After selecting your affiliation and changing your password, you are ready to use the site.

Can I take notes in the program?

Yes. Click on the tab User Notes under the top navigation bar and start typing. If you use Outlook, DO NOT use single or double quotes in your notes or you will not be able to email them. The notes window automatically recedes without losing its content as you progress through the program. When you want to add to your notes, click again on the tab. Those notes will NOT be saved when you quit; you should print or email them BEFORE you quit.

I cannot turn on/off the sound in the video practice case (after I had muted the voice over).

There is a bug in the course player that causes this to happen. For the time being, the solution is to close the module window and then select the module again.

Can I use wireless access?

Temporary loss of connection when using a wireless connection will disrupt viewing of pages and prevent recording of exam scores. It is recommended that you use a wired(plug-in) connection when taking the exam for grade.
