UNC's Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine offers patients services to help manage maternal medical complications associated with pregnancy. Services include preconception counseling, referrals for ongoing prenatal care for complex pregnancies, and consultations and/or management of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.

Fetal Care

uncfetalcare.jpgAn expert team of maternal-fetal medicine specialists, pediatric surgeons, neonatologists, and pediatric specialists work together at UNC to provide high-quality and cutting-edge therapies to high-risk pregnant women and their babies. The UNC Fetal Care Program provides a team approach to the care of women, infants and their families from diagnosis through decisions and delivery.

Maternal-Fetal Telemedicine

UNC Maternal-Fetal Telemedicine Program can provide maternal-fetal medicine consultation for obstetrical and medical complications in pregnancy, as well as genetic counseling, in your office.

MomBabyThe Center for Maternal and Infant Health is dedicated to helping patients with high-risk pregnancies and families with medically fragile infants to navigate a complex health care system, working with them to make sure they are receiving the best care available.
Reproductive Genetic Services

UNC Reproductive Genetic Services offers a variety of reproductive genetics services at NC Women's Hospital, UNC Specialty Women's Center at Rex, and by telemedicine. Reproductive genetics services at UNC are provided by board-certified or board-eligible Masters level trained genetic counselors in conjunction with a team of maternal-fetal  specialists.

Preterm Birth

The goal of the Preterm Birth Prevention Clinic is to provide supportive, consistent medical care and education to women at highest risk for spontaneous preterm birth. Dr. Tracy Manuck is the medical director of the clinic and associate professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Prenatal Diagnosis and Screening

maternal-fetal-surgery.jpgPrenatal diagnosis and screening services include advanced fetal ultrasound as well as fetal echocardiograms, and fetal diagnostic procedures, including CVS and amniocentesis.
