familyreadingpartners.pngFamily Reading Partners provides opportunities and modeling for parents and children, fostering language acquisition through singing, reading, and talking about books together. Family Reading Partners is a local, research-based organization which gives families books to keep at home for personal collections.

UNC Horizons began collaborating with Family Reading Partners in April 2016. Family Reading Partners provides opportunities and modeling for parents and children, fostering language acquisition through singing, reading, and talking about books together.

FRP meets with Horizons' families for one hour on Saturday mornings. The facilitators, who are professional educators, find the experience heart warming. Mothers in recovery with children on their laps engaged in conversations is unquestionably quality time.
