Providers, to find out your score, click here and search for your profile. Drs. Evers, Steiner and Stuart have meet all reportable core measures. Congratulations!
Insight From Dr. Evers:
Each provider has the same target. Each of the 15 categories (demographics, medications, allergies, smoking information, problem list, etc.) has a slightly different target…though it is usually between 50-80% of clinic encounters. The target for Problem list is 80% of all encounters. This is worth attention by the providers.
The Problem list is the thing the providers will likely have the most trouble with. A quick tip for those providers who do OB patients…there are really only 3 codes we have to know (V22.0, supervision of normal pregnancy, first; V22.1, supervision of normal pregnancy, other; V23.9, Supervision of high risk pregnancy).
For providers who do not write many prescriptions over the 90-day time period are exempt from the E-script requirement.
MU calculates the percentages over the last 90 days and this website updates every week, so it takes 1-2 months to see a big impact on your numbers.
MU tracks all clinic visits, not just patients…so for our OB patients, every time we see them we have to put in their vital signs, smoking habits, etc.
Preparation has started for implementation of the electronic obstetrics record. Most of the computers in the OB-GYN clinics have to be upgraded. The exceptions are the computers that are running the R4 system, which will be upgraded by the end of March.
If you have difficulties with any of the computers, please inform Sean Calfee. He will gather any issues to present to our IT colleagues.
Official information and details of a celebration event will be forthcoming, but on Wednesday, March 14 N.C. Women's Hospital received Baby-Friendly distinction from Baby-Friendly USA. Congratulations to all of those who made this possible!
