Research
The major grant-supported research in the division has been under the direction of Dr. Zolnoun, focusing on standardizing the assessment of vulvar and pelvic muscular pain. She is also investigating the relationships between gynecologic and vulvar pain syndromes and pain syndromes elsewhere in the body, including termpero-mandibular pain and functional bowel disorders.
Additional ongoing interests include the association of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with treatment response for pelvic pain, and the parameters of pain in women with endometriosis
