Outpatient Treatment Program
Horizons offers several levels of programming for women in recovery at two sites, one in Carrboro and one in Burlington. The SACOT (Intensive Outpatient Program) meets 5 mornings a week (Monday-Friday) for 4 hours daily over a 3 month period at the Carrboro site. SACOT includes an individual therapy session weekly. The SACOT group focuses on:
Full Day Programming includes the SACOT program plus an afternoon of job readiness, budgeting, parenting, nutrition and exercise, and relationship classes and groups as well as individual and family counseling. The Horizons STEPDOWN SACOT is for graduates of the 3 month SACOT program and also for women with at least 60 days sobriety. The program includes group sessions 3 mornings a week as well as 1 individual session. Women who complete this phase identify their own relapse warning sign pattern, develop and practice new recovery management tools, and continue discussion on parenting and relationships. The SAIOP (Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program) meets three hours a day, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at the Burlington site. SAIOP includes group therapy and psycho-education on the same topics as SACOT. Other Outpatient Services include:
