Michelle Louie completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Pittsburgh, PA at Magee-Womens Hospital. Over the course of her residency, she gained an deep appreciation and love for caring for patients with complex gynecologic conditions including chronic pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis. Michelle began her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of North Carolina in 2015 and upon completion became assistant professor in the division as of July 1, 2017, where she continues to care for women with complex conditions and pursue clinically relevant research. Her research interests include perioperative care and patient outcomes as well as techniques to optimally evaluate and treat common gynecologic conditions such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Michelle is also taking classes to obtain her Master's in Science and Clinical Research. Originally from New York, Michelle enjoys exploring the beauty of North Carolina by trail-running, dining, and going to the beach!
