Dr. Victoria Bae-Jump
- Received the SGO Basic Science Award for her abstract entitled "Development of a preclinical serous ovarian cancer mouse model", at the SGO 42nd Annual Meeting in March.
- Was awarded a NC TraCS $50K Pilot Grant for a project entitled “Obesity, Metformin and Ovarian Cancer Pathogenesis".
- Awarded a University of North Carolina Nutrition Obesity Research Center, Pilot and Feasibility Research Grant for a project entitled “Investigation of the Impact of Obesity and Metformin on Ovarian Cancer Pathogenesis”.

Dr. Wendy Brewster has been selected for ELAM Fellowship. She will be part of the 2011-2012 class.
Dr. Nell Johnson received the Robert A. Ross Research Award for her presentation entitled "A Prospective Study of Adolescent Mothers and Post Partum Depression: Examining the Risk" at the 26th Annual William Droegemueller Resident Clinical Studies Program & The Ross Residency Alumni Society Meeting. This is awarded by a panel of judges at the meeting to a third year resident with the best research presentation of the day.
Dr. Anne Steiner was awarded a R21 NIH grant for her research entitled "Biomarkers of Infertility". Results from this research, combined with research by others, will allow women to predict their current and future reproductive potential, ultimately allowing them more reproductive control.
Under the mentorship of Dr. Denniz Zolnoun, rising 2nd year medical student Mimi Konitzer was awarded a summer research grant through the Carolina Medical Student Research Program. Funding for her research is provided through a short-term research training (STRT) grant from the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney diseases (NIDDK) and is supported by a NIH T35 mechanism. Her project will investigate cytokine dysregulation and the response to neuromodualtion in endometriosis associated chronic pelvic pain.
