For the third consecutive time the Gynecologic Oncology Clinic is named as a Top 5 Clinic (listed at #2). Dr. Gwyn Bryant and Dr. Kelly Hankins have been selected to receive the Kaiser Permanente Excellence in Teaching Awards awarded by the 4th year class of UNC's School of Medicine. Award ceremony will take place during the School of Medicine’s 2009 Richard H. Whitehead Lecture on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. in 2204 Medical Biomolecular Research Building. Dr. Gretchen Stuart received a $15,000 grant from the Society of Family Planning (SFP), for A Pilot Study of Early Postpartum Intrauterine Contraception. Dr. Steven Young received an NC TraC$10K Pilot Program. Progesterone Resistance in Endometriosis: A Pilot Study. This study will use modeled cycles to test the hypothesis that women with endometriosis have cellular resistance to the actions of progesterone. Dr. Young was also appointment to the Editorial Board of The American Journal of Reproductive Immunology. Dr. Denniz Zolnoun has been asked to serve on Advisory Board for the NIH's study called ICEPAC (IC Elucidation of Psychophysiological and Autonomic Characteristics).
