Dr. Champa Chaudhury received a TraC$2K award for her research entitled Association of VEGF and Preeclampsia.

Dr. RK Hanna, Dr. KM Malloy, Dr. C Zhou, Dr. PA Gehrig and Dr. VL Bae-Jump received the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society Fellow's Award on Genistein and soy extract inhibit proliferation of endometrial cancer cells by G2 cell cycle arrest at the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society Annual Meeting.

The UNC Midwifery Division celebrated it's 10th Anniversary in the NC Women's Hospital Lobby on October 8.

Patients, families, staff and honorees joined the celebration of more than 175 guests.  Guests enjoyed a slide show featuring birth stories as well as posters highlighting the Midwifery Division's statistics and outcomes.  Speakers included Clarke-Pearson, MD and Carolyn D. Viall, MSN, RN with Darryl Owens, MDiv, giving the invocation.

The evening concluded with food from the Mediterranean Deli and door prizes from 17 local merchants.

Prior to the event, Kathy Higgins, CNM and Stephanie Devane-Johnson, CNM were interviewed by News 14 Carolina’s Tracey Early.
