Nicholson named ACOG Fellow-at-Large

The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) announced the election of new officers, including UNC OB-GYN’s Dr. Wanda K. Nicholson as Fellow-at-Large.

Dr. Nicholson, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology, assumed the office on May 8, 2017. She is immediate past chair of the ACOG's Committee on Health Care for Underserved Women and a former ACOG McCain Fellow. She also served as junior fellows president for North Carolina in District IV.

At UNC, Dr. Nicholson is the Director of the Diabetes and Obesity Core at the UNC Center for Women's Health Research and directs the Triangle-site of the national COMPARE-UF study on the management of uterine fibroids.
