Clinic Appointment: UNC Fibroid Care Clinic UNC Vulvar Pain Clinic | Our Care ProvidersJohn F. Steege, MD - Professor and Division Director Denniz A. Zolnoun, MD, MPH - Associate Professor The Division of Advanced Laparoscopy and Pelvic Pain performs gynecologic surgeries for benign disease (non-cancerous), with advanced expertise in operative laparoscopy, including robotic assisted gynecologic laparoscopy. We are regionally and nationally recognized as authorities in the evaluation and management of pelvic pain problems, and in laparoscopic surgery. Typical patients are those with chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, and other general gynecologic problems. It is our experience that about 80-90% of commonly performed gynecologic surgeries can now be done with minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques. This type of surgery involves much less pain after surgery and allows quicker healing and return to normal activities. Please feel free to review our information and we encourage you to review our "What is Laparoscopic Surgery" section.
