Where on campus is that?? - ArchiveIn each edition of the TIBBS Times there is a contest testing readers' recognition of common and not so common locations around campus. The first 10 grad students to reply with the correct location get to chose from a box of candy bars. Here are the answers to previous contests along with the winners that month. Answer: This is the Unsung Founders Monument dedicated to the people of color who helped build UNC campus in the late 1700's and early 1800's. It sits in McCorkle Place not far from the Morehead Planetarium. Silent Sam, the confederate soldier symolizing UNC students who fought in the Civil War, can be seen in the background.
