There will be a reception celebrating the opening of the Office of International Activities on April 1, 2009, between 12 and 2, in the second floor balcony of MBRB.
The primary goals of this office will be to provide structure and support for medical student global health electives and to give guidance to medical student-led initiatives in global health formally supported by UNC. The OIA will also work with Student Affairs to improve the experience of international students working at UNC School of Medicine, and with UNCH residency directors to promote international experiences for residents. We seek to foster collaboration with broader initiatives in global health and education across the UNC campus.
Our hope is that the OIA will become a hub for global health activities within the School of Medicine. The office will be located in 322A MacNider, and a global health resource area will be available for medical students.
