This year’s theme, Making a Difference: Global Health and its Social, Economic, and Political Impact, reflects the inextricable links that exist between global health and each of these realms. Our 2017 conference will explore these complex relationships and highlight how our work is making a difference at the individual, community and societal levels.
We are thrilled to share our keynote speakers, three incredible leaders in global health:

Michael H. Merson, MD, Wolfgang Joklik Professor of Global Health and Vice President and Vice Provost for Global Affairs at Duke University.

The conference will also feature two plenary panel discussions:
1. Global Health Security
This plenary panel will discuss the ways in which global health investments protect America’s security. As global health efforts help people and communities become healthier, we also help control and contain disease outbreaks, create more stable and secure societies, expand democracy, and generate good will. This discussion will explore the myriad ways in which global health work promotes American security. Panelists include:

2. The Economic Impact of Global Health
This plenary panel will explore the economic impacts of global health work including job creation, supporting new trade partners and emerging markets, and strengthening America’s economic competitiveness. Panelists include:
