Antivirus Migration

Any computer running Symantec antivirus must uninstall the software by August 1, 2013.

For University Owned Machines

  1. The replacement for Symantec is Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP).  Be sure that you choose the Non-Managed - For University Owned Computers option.
  2. After you have successfully installed SCEP, then you may have to uninstall Symantec if it is not removed automatically.  Instructions for uninstalling can be found here.

For Personally Owned Machines

Windows

  1. The replacement for Symantec on personally owned Windows machines is Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
  2. After you have successfully installed MSE, then you will have to manually uninstall SymantecInstructions for uninstalling can be found here.

Mac
