Match Week

Interviews are conducted Mondays and Wednesdays beginning October 20, 2014 with up to four applicants scheduled per day. The day begins with a resident morning conference, followed by a light breakfast with resident-only dedicated time, four one-on-one faculty interviews including an interview with the program director, lunch with two residents off campus in downtown Chapel Hill followed by a tour of our facilities and a visit with our Chair. We provide one night’s hotel accommodations for your convenience and the hotel shuttle will transport you to and from the institution. Raleigh–Durham Airport is a short drive and if you chose to drive we are located just minutes from Interstate 40 and Interstate 85.

Applications may be submitted until December 1, 2014. Available interview slots may fill quickly and interested applicants are advised to submit their applications early.

The UNC Hospitals Pathology Residency Program requires:

  • All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Medical school transcript

  • Personal statement

  • Demonstrated interest in Pathology

  • Valid ECFGM certification for international medical graduates

  • In most cases, medical school cut-off date of ten years

Note that UNC Hospitals only sponsors J-1 visas.
