Rawley Crews is the Administrative Support Specialist/ International Visiting Student Coordinator for the Office of International Activities. Her work in the OIA is largely concerning the International Visiting Medical Student Program. With a background in Strategic Communication and Global Affairs as well as interests in global education and health, Rawley has worked and volunteered in various unique domains and positions globally.

As an undergraduate at UNC, she served as the leader and grant writer for the UNC Campus Y-affiliated organization Project HEAL. Here, she organized and planned first aid/dental trips and supply distribution to Lawra, Ghana, co-founded Project HEAL’s adoption of a rural malaria clinic, and orchestrated workshops on wound care, dental hygiene and malaria prevention in local Ghanaian schools. She was also an active member of the Campus Y Global Circle, where her efforts were in developing and encouraging informed and respectful travel amongst UNC students, and in discussing cultural sensitivity and purpose amongst volunteer travelers.

Previously, her focus was in global education, as she has experience teaching throughout schools and youth centers in India, and spent a year designing the English curriculum in the French primary schools of Bastia, Corsica as a Language Assistant.

With the OIA, she enjoys the opportunity to use her skills and interests to assist and encourage some of the world’s top medical students in continuing their education and growth as physicians during their international elective at UNC.
