UNC Kittner Eye Center Living with Low Vision Program

The UNC Living with Low Vision Program specializes in maximizing vision for those who have lost vision from eye disease, stroke, head trauma or neurological disorders.

Individuals with Low Vision see poorly even with their best eyeglasses or contact lenses. Special devices called Low Vision Aids often allow individuals to maximize the use of their remaining vision. Devices can range from simple magnifiers to complex optical and electronic systems and special computer software.

At UNC we are committed to caring for the vision and well-being of each of our patients. We are proud to offer our “Living with Low Vision Program” which offers care and support for any stage of diminished vision without needing a referral.

We are located in the Kittner Eye Center at UNC on Nelson Highway and encourage you to make an appointment by calling 984-974-2058.
