Residents and faculty meet at a conferenceWeekly Departmental Case Conferences take place on Wednesday mornings for 1 hour. The first 30 minutes involves a case presentation and a review of an interesting topic, a quality-improvement project presentation, or morbidity and mortality rounds. The latter half of the hour involves reviewing on-call cases from the weekend and a senior resident discusses the practical clinical approach to the case in an oral boards-style presentation.

Additional retina imaging conference, glaucoma service rounds, and/or subspecialty journal clubs occur every other week for one hour each.

Further didactic subspecialty lectures rotate on an 18-month rotation, to ensure that each major topic is covered at least twice during the residency.

Since March 2020, all educational sessions have been delivered virtually.
