Hand & Microsurgery Service
The hand and microsurgery physicians at UNC Orthopaedics treat a wide variety of hand and upper extremity problems, including major traumatic injuries to the upper extremity that in addition to fracture care can require the repair of severed tendons, nerves, and blood vessels. Our orthopaedic surgeons also perform reconstructive procedures for arthritic problems, birth defects, and other non-traumatic problems of the hands and upper extremities. Many of these procedures can be performed as out patient surgery under local or regional anesthesia in the hospital's operating suite at the Ambulatory Care Center on Mason Farm Road.
