My first of many appointments at UNC Orthopaedics began as a result of a knee injury. I had recently taken up running again and noticed some pain that, even as a few weeks went by, never subsided. I'd heard a lot of good things about UNC Orthopaedics and decided to make an appointment with Dr. Doug Dirschl. From the beginning, I was impressed. Every time I have been to the office, I have not waited more than 15 minutes! The nurses are wonderful and with all the essentials in one place, brace shop, x-ray, etc, I found the entire experience to be convenient and quick. Once we reached a diagnosis for my condition (I needed left knee cartilage debridement and microfracture allograph--all done arthroscopicly), Dr. Dirschl handed my care over to Dr. Alex Creighton, their sports surgeon who specializes in this procedure. I have been very impressed with Dr. Creighton's abilities as a surgeon and as a clinician. I'm well on my way to hitting the pavement again. From an all-in-one facility, accommodating appointment times, professional and friendly staff, and excellent doctors, UNC Orthopaedics took care of my knee with little trouble or interruption to my daily schedule.
