Walk-in orthopaedic care-- for people who can be transported by regular automobile, NOT by ambulance, stretcher, etc.-- is provided at UNC Orthopaedics Prompt Care Clinic for the following urgent conditions:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Fractures/possible fractures
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Injuries that do not require stitches
  • Cast problems


UNC Orthopaedics Prompt Care Clinic is NOT appropriate for these conditions:

 

  • Head trauma, open fractures or spine injuries

  • Lacerations requiring stitches

  • Chronic or long-standing conditions

  • Second opinions

  • Pain medication refills
