Translational Pathology Laboratory (TPL) — The TPL a core facility to enhance translational research in the UNC School of Medicine and is administered by the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Laboratory is designed to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze fresh, frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissues and cell lines using morphology-based assays for DNA, RNA, and proteins. | Animal Clinical Chemistry and Gene Expression Laboratories — This core facility offers research investigators the availability of clinical-laboratory tests for animals. The tests include blood chemistry, urinalysis, and hematology. The Laboratories also offer studies of gene expression. | Oligonucleotide Synthesis Core Facility — This core facility within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine produces and purifies oligonucleotides for use by investigators in genetic research experiments. | Microscopy Services Laboratory (MSL) — The MSL is within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and serves as a core facility for the UNC School of Medicine. The Laboratory provides light microscopy and electron microscopy services to UNC researchers and UNC Hospitals. The MSL also offers laser capture microdissection and computer-assisted morphometry. |
